Dear Families,
We will be celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebration Day on Friday 10th June. All of our children will be learning about the significance of this occasion and we will be performing a very special music concert for them to enjoy.
The theme of the concert is ‘Music through the Queen’s decades’. Each year group have been practising a song linked to a decade. The lyrics for your child’s song can be found on their class page of the website. Please see below for song choices and era.
Reception: ‘Cha Cha Slide’ by Mr C, The Slide Man (2000s)
Year 1: ‘I Have A Dream’ by Abba (1970s)
Year 2: ‘Dancing in the Street’ by Martha and the Vandelles (1960s)

On the 10th June, your child can make a choice between wearing red, white and blue clothes or dressing up in fancy dress from their era. We’re looking forward to seeing what you decide!
As part of this wonderful event, the kitchen staff will be creating a celebration lunch. The lunch will consist of juice, open finger rolls (tuna and cheese), crisps, vegetarian sausage rolls and cake with red, white and blue sprinkles. The cost of lunch is £2.30, the same as a normal school dinner. Children in Reception and KS1 are entitled to free school meals.
If you would like your child to have a celebration lunch, please complete the reply slip and give to your child’s class teacher. All replies must be returned by Friday 27th May as we need to order ingredients before the May half term.
