Dear Parents/Carers,

Fundraising

Thank you for your very generous donations for our fundraising over the last 7 days.

Hope For Mankind – to support Palestinians in Gaza   - we raised £2500

I know we have many families who care very deeply about the Palestinian people in Gaza and want to help. We were overwhelmed by the donations that the children have brought in. Several children brought donations of £100 or more!

This money will be forwarded to the charity as soon as possible to ensure that it can be used to help people in significant need. Thank you for your generosity.

Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal – we raised £225

BBC Children in Need Appeal – we raised £155

Pudsey Bear came with his friends from Radio Lancashire on Thursday. The children were very excited to see Pudsey Bear in our hall, dancing around and having a party. Some of the School Council were interviewed for BBC Radio Lancashire and may even appear on the tv for the BBC Children In Need Appeal.

Punctuality

We had 11 hours of lates this week, meaning learning is still being missed by some children. This seems to be increasing each week.

Please ensure that your child is in school before the gates closes at 8.50am each day.

Only one class managed no lates at all this week:

Y1 Mrs King – Fox Class

Attendance

You are aware that attendance has been really low recently and it is even lower this week.

Our overall attendance for this week is 90.94%.

The classes with the highest attendance this week are:

Y5 Mrs Boyd’s class  98.41%

Y4 Miss Radcliffe’s class – 99.26%

All other classes had attendance that was lower than 96%.

Events that took place this week

  • The local PCSO came to speak to the Y6 children on Wednesday.
  • Some Y6 children will be taking part in the Bikeability cycling training programme. This will continue into next week.
