This half term we are looking at:
Pirate Cruncher by Johny Duddle
Non-chronological reports about explorers
Stories with Familiar Settings
We have been reading MudPuddle Farm by Michael Murpurgo. We enjoyed reading the chapters 'Mossop's Last Chance' and 'Albertine, Goose Queen.'
We enjoyed writing our own stories and most of us still included our favourite character Mossop in our stories. In extended write, we have been writing a wanted poster for a new cat that was needed on the farm.
Persuasive Leaflets
After learning so much about the farm and the different things we can find on a farm, we decided we would help Farmer Rafferty create the best farm ever!
We looked and compared lots of different leaflets about farms and used this to help us create a success criteria. From this, we created our own leaflets using alliteration and persuasive language.
Would you like to come to our fun, fanatastic farm?

Traditional Tales with a Twist
We have been reading Little Red Riding Hood and read two different versions. We enjoyed listening to the Wolf's version of the story.
We compared the wolf from both versions and we felt quite sorry for the wolf in the new version. When we had written our own stories we made sure to end our stories with some really good twists.
Instructions
We have enjoyed making Christmas cards and then writing instructions to explain how to make those cards. We
made sure we included time words and adverbs in our instructions.
