Autumn 1

Our topic this half-term was called ‘Family Album’. We have looked at our own family photo albums and talked about who is in our families and how they are all related.

Then we have thought about the Royal Family. We have learnt who they are and how they are related to each other.

After that, we have been comparing humans in Science. We have been exploring and describing similarities and differences between ourselves and others.

“We are the same because we both have long hair.”

“We are different because I am 4 and you are 5.”

For Geography, we have been learning about the four countries that make up the United Kingdom and finding them on maps.

Autumn 2

At the beginning of the term we had Art Week and we looked at photographs taken by Annie Leibovitz. We took self-portraits and some of our adults came in to help us finish our artwork.

Our topic this half term is ‘Our Amazing Bodies’. For Design Technology we made our own moving puppets. We used the Funny Bones story as our inspiration for the characters and settings.

For Remembrance Day we decorated poppies using different media and wrote letters to the Royal British Legion.

Spring 1

This half term our topic is ‘Penguins, Possums and Pets’. For Geography we have been learning about the different climates around the world and what we would expect to wear if we visited there. Also, we have learnt the names and locations of the 7 continents and 5 oceans around the world.

For Science we have been learning to sort and classify animals.
