Please ensure all children are in school by 8.50am. Lessons start promptly at this time. |
Police The police have been around after school this week, checking that blue disabled badges have been used correctly, and checking car seat and seatbelt use in cars. They also noted drivers who continue to drop off or pick up on the yellow zigzag lines or the solid yellow lines between 3pm and 4pm– which is not permitted. Several drivers were spoken to and given advice. We will be having these police visits on a regular basis. Please ensure that you use appropriate car seat, use seat belts and only stop where it is safe and legal to do so.

Events Police Horses - We had a visit from the mounted police on Monday. All of the children got the chance to see the horses Rufford and Hutton and to pat the horses if they wanted to. Children from each class were able to ask a question and we found out lots of information about the Police horses. Adam in Year 6 asked why they use horse when motorbikes would get them around faster. He was told that being on the horses enabled the officers to be higher up so that they can see what is happening in a crowd. They also told him that they cannot drive a motorbike through crowds, but they can use horses in crowds.
Football - our girls’ football team played at Fishermore on Monday and played really well.
New Reception Children - We welcomed lots of new children on Monday who will start at Reedley from September in our Reception class. There were lots of familiar faces and many new families. If you have a child due to start with us in September and you have not completed the forms, please see Mrs Iqbal as soon as possible. |

Climate Change Khadijah and Maham from Year 4 have written a presentation in their own time and delivered it to the children from Y3 – Y6 in assembly. They told children all about the different bins they can use to recycle and encouraged them to use the bins. They discussed the impact that waste has on the environment. They said that plastic waste can end up in the ocean and have an impact on the animals there. They also said that waste that can not be recycled gets put into a hole in the ground (landfill) and asked what we will do when these get full. Thank you to the girls for taking the time to research this topic and presenting it so well in assembly.
