Welcome to Reception Chicks and Ducklings!

We are delighted to welcome you and your child to the start of an exciting and important journey. Reception is a time of curiosity, discovery, and growth, where children develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning through play-based and structured activities. Our caring team works closely with families to create a safe, happy, and nurturing environment in which every child can thrive. We look forward to building a strong partnership with you and supporting your child as they take their first steps into school life.

Please don't hesitate to contact your child's teacher if you have and questions or queries. We are available on the school gate every morning and after school. Alternatively you can request a meeting at a more appropriate time by contacting the school office.

Below are the key adults who support your child whilst they are at school.

Key Information

PE

Reception take part in PE every Thursday morning. Please ensure your child has their PE kit in school.

This should include:

• Red t-shirt
• Black shorts/leggings/joggers
• Black pumps

Book Bags

We provide bookbags for all children in Reception. Please ensure you child brings their book bag to school every day. 

Homework

Homework is sent home every Thursday and it will consist of a phonics game. Please use the resources to play the game with your child as this will support them in learning how to read.

Reading books

Reading books are collected every Tuesday and are sent home on Thursdays. Please sign your childs Monkey Book when you have read with them. Our whole school expectation is that children read at home at least 3 times a week. Your child will recieve a prize when they have read 10 times.
