Let’s celebrate!

During this topic, we explored how people celebrate different festivals, including Bonfire Night and Christmas. We also read the stories Owl Babies and Leaf Man, which helped us to think about feelings and the changing season.

Literacy

In Literacy, we discussed how people celebrate Bonfire Night and explored the different colours we see in fireworks. We also talked about what happens to leaves in Autumn. The children used loose parts to create their own Leaf Man and then described it.

When reading Owl Babies, we talked about the different emotions the Owl Babies had at different points of the story. We also identified the beginning, middle and the end of the story.

Maths

We have been learning about numbers 6,7,8,9 and 10. We have talked about each number in depth and have been making the numbers in lots of different ways. We built the numbers in Number Land and chose different ways to represent the numbers.
