Attendance

Our overall school attendance this week was 95.58%.
Seven classes met the school target of 96%.

Punctuality

  • Y5 Meerkat Class had the fewest lates this week — only one late.
  • Across the whole school, 52 lates were recorded.
  • The school day starts at 8.50am.
  • 5 pupils arrived after 9.20am, which counts as an absence, not a late mark.

Year 4 Parents – Multiplication Check Meeting

  • Wednesday 25th February, 2.45pm
  • Information about the Multiplication Tables Check (1st–12th June).
  • How the check works and ways to help your child prepare.

Device Meeting

  • Parents invited to Meeting 1 must also attend Meeting 2.
  • Thursday 29th January, 2.30pm, in the school hall.
  • Overview of educational programmes used in school.
  • Guidance on access and online safety for children.

Online Safety Session (Knowsley Council)

  • Delivered online via Microsoft Teams.
  • Wednesday 28th January, 9.30–10.15am.
  • Focus: Guide to Online Gaming – current trends, risks, and safety tips.
  • No registration required.
  • Cameras and microphones disabled for attendees.
  • Questions can be typed in the Q&A box.

Indoor Bowls

  • A group of children took part in an Indoor Bowls activity.
  • Pupils enjoyed trying a new sport.
  • Mrs Large praised their effort and resilience.

Library Bus Visit

  • Lancashire County Council’s library bus visited school today.
  • Children were able to exchange the books we borrow annually.

Number Day – Friday 6th February

  • Children may wear number‑themed clothing to celebrate Number Day.
  • Poster available separately.

Holocaust Event (Year 6)

  • Year 6 pupils attended a Holocaust remembrance event.
  • They heard firsthand testimony from Martin Stern, a Holocaust survivor.
  • Children found the session informative and powerful.

Chaos to Calm – Parent Support Group

  • For parents with children showing challenging behaviours.
  • Focus on understanding behaviour, building relationships, and developing practical strategies.
  • Starts Monday 23rd February, 9–10am (6‑week programme).
  • Run by the Children’s Mental Health Team.
  • Speak to Miss Cowell or Mrs Simmonds to register.
  • An initial assessment will determine suitability.
