Family Workshop – Reception, Year 1 & Year 2
Join us for an interactive phonics workshop on Friday 26th September, 9:00am – 9:30am.
We’ll explore what phonics is and how to support your child with reading.
Children will be able to join you for part of the session.
Online Safety
We understand that online safety is a growing concern for families.
Knowsley Council will be running a free online safety session on:
🗓️ Wednesday 1st October
🕓 4:00pm – 4:45pm
🔗 A link will be sent out closer to the date.
This session will cover:
- Online risks
- Latest trends
- How to support your child to stay safe online
We also recommend using Qustodio, a monitoring and filtering tool for children’s devices.
It’s available in both free and paid versions and helps manage screen time, block harmful content, and monitor activity.
Traffic Around School
We’ve seen several instances of unsafe and illegal parking this week.
Please remember:
- Do not stop on zigzag lines or single yellow lines.
- Do not block driveways or park on pavements.
- Children must use appropriate car seats until they are 12 years old or 135cm tall.
Unsafe driving puts our children at risk. We report incidents to the police and inappropriate car seat use can result in a £500 fine.
Recent Events
- Year 1 enjoyed a Lego workshop linked to their topic on London. They built landmarks like Tower Bridge and Elizabeth Tower.
- Year 4 had a virtual author visit with Emma Swan.
Zubayr and Raees from Y4N said they loved the quiz and now want to read her book!
Meet the School Council & Governors
On Monday, staff, governors, and our school council met to share their roles and discuss how they support the school. It was a great opportunity to learn from each other.
