Dear Parents/Carers,

Uniform Reminders

·         Children are not allowed to wear smart watches to school.

·         Earrings need to be small studs only and these must be removed or covered with plasters for PE.

·         Headscarves can be worn but should be plain black, blue or white, with no patterns.

These need to be removed for PE sessions.

 

·         Thank you to everyone who works hard to ensure that their child has their uniform for school.

 

·         With the weather turning cooler, your child can bring plain black tracksuit top/jumper for PE sessions that will take place outdoors.

 

·         Please ensure that all items have your child’s name written clearly in them.

Punctuality

Well done to Rec Ducklings Class, Year 1 Vole Class, Y5 Meerkat Class and Y5 Ermine Class.

They all had all the children in on time all week.

           

Nut Free School

Due to some children having a severe nut allergy, please do not send nuts into school.

Please remember that  it is our policy not to bring treats in for

other children for celebrations such as birthdays, Christmas or Eid.

You can donate a book to the library if you want to, to celebrate your child’s birthday.

 

BBC 500 Words Writing Competition

Thank you for entries. Children will find out on Friday if their entries have been selected to send into the national competition.

If your child’s entry was not chosen, you can submit it yourself using this link https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/500-words/articles/zqc8mbk

BBC 500 words will not accept entries generated by AI. Unfortunately some of the entries to school had been done using AI technology.

School Photographs

14 11 25 Whole school photographs. Families can have pictures taken before school from 8.15am. We use individual pupil pictures for a group photo in the school entrance.

Fundraising

Children In Need - On Friday 14th November, the BBC will be raising money for BBC Children In Need. We won’t be marking in it school this year as there are other events taking place.

Poppies - We have been selling poppies and other merchandise on behalf of the Royal British Legion. We will continue selling these up to and including Tuesday 11th November.

Poppies are 20p, reflective poppies and wrist bands £1 with slap bands £1.50.

Poppies can be worn in school, wrist bands need to be kept for home.

 

School Council

Our School Council will be delivering an exciting project regarding road safety. Look out for more information over the next week!

 

Recent Events

Year 3 children have had a session about healthy

eating and drinking delivered by BFC staff.

The sessions called GULP (Give Up Loving Pop)

educate children about the

sugar content of food and drink.

 

Sporting Events

Our Y5/6 football team attended a competition for the Turf Moor Cup on Thursday. They won their first two games, narrowly losing 2-1 to the winners

Eesa Hasan was the Player of the Match.

Well done to:

Y6 Keyaan, Zak, Eesa and Sami  and Y5 Eesa, Zain and Dawood

 

A group of children took part in a sporting event at Colne Leisure Centre this week.

Well done to the children who attended:  Hamza, Anabia, Aizah, Zak, Zohaib, Barrira and Subhan.

Their enthusiasm and conduct was noted as being excellent!

Rock Kidz

Rock Kidz visited school on Monday with a clear message against bullying. It was great to see how much the children loved this experience. Well done to everyone who made an effort with costumes!

·         Christmas Holiday – School will be closed from Monday 22nd December and will reopen on Tuesday 6th January.
