Dear Parents/Carers,

 

Unavoidable School Closure – Thursday 4th JULY

A general election will take place on Thursday 4th July. School will be used as a polling station and there is no way that we can get out of this. We are not able to keep school open, so it will be closed on this day.

Teachers will be setting work for children to complete on this day.

 

Clubs

All clubs run by school staff have now finished for the school year.

There are some opportunities being offered by our Care Club staff.

They are offering a series of clubs for 5 sessions at a price of £35 for the whole course.

You can book a place for your child online https://blooming-buds-childcare.pembee.app/listing/reedley-wraparound or you can bring the full price of the course into school with a note, to secure your child’s place. Please indicate clearly which club you wish them to attend.

 

CRICKET CLUB                                           PRICE  - £35 for the 5 week course

For children in Y3, 4, 5, 6

The club will run from 3.30 – 5.00pm. There will be an hour of cricket coaching and a snack included.

Dates 3rd June, 10th June, 24th June, 1st July and 8th July

 

SILLY SLIME AND CREATIVE CRAFTS     PRICE -  £35 for the 5 week course

Open to children from all classes

The club will run from 3.30 – 5.00pm. There will be lots of arts and craft activities and a snack included.

Dates 6th June, 13th June, 20th June*, 27th June and 11th July

(*20th June is likely to be moved to another date due to the school fair)

Places are limited and are offered on a first come – first served basis

 

Non-Uniform Day

In preparation for our Eid Fair, we are asking the children to bring a donation of chocolate to school on Friday 7th June. In return, they can wear their non-uniform to school for the day.

Please ensure that all chocolate or sweet donations are suitable for vegetarians.

 

Attendance

Our overall attendance for this week is 93.41%.

 

Y5H Martes Martes Class achieved 100% attendance this week. Well done!

The Y2S Badger Class has won the attendance award for the half term and will have their class non uniform day on Thursday 6th June.

 

Punctuality

We had 3 hours and 5 minutes of lates this week.

 

The Y3V Golden Eagle class had no lates this week.

 

The Y5M Felis Silvestris class has won the punctuality award for the half term and will have their class non uniform day on Thursday 6th June.

 

Sue Dean Writing Award

Aleena Hussain from Rec Hedgehogs Class has won the Sue Dean Writing Award for the half term. Well done Aleena, your writing is progressing really well and you are including lots of features in your work.

 

Reading for Pleasure

Alesha Ahmed (Y2C) and Khadijah Haneefa (Y6H) both won a £10 book voucher. Their names were drawn from the raffle of children who have been participating with the reading awards. Another raffle will take place at the end of the summer term

 

Events this week

  • Year 2 took part in road safety sessions.

 

  • Y4 had an Egyptian day as part of their topic. There were some brilliant costumes – well done to the children and their parents/carers.

 

  • 22nd May – Ten children from Y5/6 went on a trip to Preston UCLAN and met the authors of the books they have been reading. 40 children took part in the FBA club throughout the year in school and the ten who attended the trip were chosen at random from these 40.

 

  • Y2 will had their trip to Lytham. They were very lucky with the weather and had a great time.

 

Upcoming Events

 

  • Week beginning 3rd June – Y4 will take the required multiplication check
  • 7th June – Non-uniform day. Children are asked to bring a chocolate donation
  • 13th June – Family Eid event for Reception children and their families – please return the slip that has been sent home if you wish to attend.

 

  • 19th June – all children can wear non-uniform following Eid
  • 20th June – Eid Fair 3.45pm to 4.45pm – everyone is welcome to attend

Art Week

Our third and final art week of the school year will take place after half term. Please see the timings below.

 

Key Dates

  • School will be closed for two days for Eid on Monday 17th and 18th June
  • School closes for the summer holiday at 1:30pm on Friday 19th
  • School reopens to pupils after the summer holiday on Tuesday 3rd
