Dear Parents/Carers, 
Summer Holiday
School will close at 1.30pm on Wednesday 23rd July. School will reopen to pupils on Tuesday 2nd September
Farewell and Good Luck to Year 6
Our Year 6 children have been amazing throughout their time at Reedley and they leave us ready for the next 
stage in their educational journey. They have made so many memories and great friends and have learnt 
skills and knowledge along the way, developing into the wonderful children that they are.
We wish them luck and success for the future. We have supported them to develop the Reedley Values of 
respect and honesty. We know they will use these values along with the kindness, courage and perseverance 
that they have shown us. We want them all to have the highest aspirations for the future.
Thank you to their families of our Year 6 children, for the support you have shown to the school over the 
years, but also to your children. You have navigated a global pandemic, along with supporting your children 
socially, emotionally and academically. You have all done a great job!
We hope Year 6 families are able to join is for the Leavers’ Assembly at 9.15am on Wednesday. We also ask 
that, if you are able to, you join us again in the school hall from 1.15pm to see them leave the school for the 
last time as a Year 6 cohort.
Year 6, please keep in touch and let us know how you progress in life. 
You will always be part of the Reedley family.
Awards
Team Points
Calder Team won the team point treat for this half term and had their treat today.
Sue Dean Writing Award
Halimah Rahman (Reception) has won the Sue Dean Writing Award for this half term. Well done to all of the 
children who were nominated.
Reading For Pleasure
Aaima Bilal (Y2C) and Alayana Hussain (Y4P) have won the £10 book vouchers for taking part in the Reading 
Awards this half term.
Attendance
Mr Thew’s class have won the attendance treat for the half term and can wear their non-uniform tomorrow 
(Wednesday)
Punctuality
Mrs Kings Reception Chick Class and Mrs Phillip’s Y4 Red Fox Class had the joint fewest number of lates this 
half term and can wear non-uniform tomorrow (Wedneday).

Many of our children achieved 100% attendance this year and we are incredibly proud of this achievement. 
Well done to them and their families. The children received a badge and were able to choose a prize.

Holiday Activities
It would really benefit your children if they could take part in a few activities to keep key skills ticking over,
during their break from school.
Many children have access to Maths Whizz, Numbots, Purple Mash and Nessy. A few minutes each day would 
really help your child.
They could also work on their times tables in order to work towards the certificates that we have on offer.
Blue Peter challenge
Your children could try to earn themselves a Blue Peter badge.

Blue Peter badges are awarded for sending interesting letters, stories, pictures, poems and good ideas for the 
show. There are different badges with different criteria. You can apply for these online or by post.
If you manage to get a badge, it can also get you free entry to some attractions and days out.
If children are successful in getting badges, they can show them in assembly in September.
Summer Reading Challenge

You can sign up for free with your local library and receive a booklet with information about different 
challenges to complete. There is a comic book story to unlock along the way.
If you read five library books over the summer you can collect stickers and prizes. If you complete all of the 
challenges you could be entered into a draw to win a £50 Lego kit.

Swimming
In September, all of our children from Y3 to Y6 will take part in swimming lessons when the pop up pool 
visits.
They will all need:
GIRLS
- A one-piece swimming costume 
- A swimming hat
- Towel
- Dressing gown
- Flip flops/crocs
BOYS
- Swimming trunks or shorts
- Towel
- Dressing gown
- Flip flops/crocs
The children all have individual changing cubicles and will have a shower before and after going in the pool.

I hope you all have a safe and happy summer.
Please remind the children about safety in the areas that they are playing, 
especially if this is near the railway or near water.
Please also remind them about stranger danger and the need to be safe in 
the sun (if we get any!).
Thank you for your support throughout the year and we all look forward to 
seeing you all again in September.
